Bullying and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
One of the validating experiences I can bring to understanding the devastating and long-term affects of Bullying is that my husband and I grew up in the same New Hampshire community and were both bullied.
Even though we are in our fifties, we can talk about these experiences and the children, adults and teachers who took no action, as well as the adults who appeared to enjoy the distress of innocent children and teens.
Whether bullying is experienced now, or long in the past, symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder may occur. When treated individuals can learn to participate with ease in groups of their choice at school, the workplace, or community.
If you are struggling with your child being bullied, your child is bullying, or you are coping with it yourself, please call immediately. You will be helped.
Regardless of your age, home, school, or workplace, you have the right to be safe both physically and emotionally.
